Charismatic Prayer Group, ‘Pray in the Spirit’:

Father Ferry decided to give this Café Emmaus event a recognizable name: ‘the charismatic prayer group’. So, we will continue to use this name from now on.
I'll briefly describe the experience of our meeting on October 22nd. It was a fantastic experience. We started at 8:30 PM and there were five of us: Sister Simi, Father Ferry, Narcissa de Jesús, Frieda, and I, Chris. We began with the song, ‘Welcome Holy Spirit’. Sister Simi led the singing. Sometimes singing, sometimes humming, sometimes repeating, sometimes just singing Jesus Jesus Jesus or Holy, Holy, Holy! We continued this for half an hour or more.
Yes, invoking the Holy Spirit. Serena and Natalia arrived later. At that moment, we were engaged in a very personal prayer with the laying on of hands by Sister Simi and myself. Yes, we invoke the Holy Spirit, and Sister Simi shares her feelings. Even though the group was small, it was very intense. Narcissa de Jesús is actually Spanish and doesn't speak English very well, but that's not really a problem when invoking the Holy Spirit. So we did four of these personal journeys, and I can say it was unusual. It's incredibly effective. A lot of personal things were addressed, which were shared in the group.
Then followed a prayer about Jesus being the door. That's how I understood it, and that door is depicted in Banneux. Jesus knocks on our door, but we must open it. Come to Jesus. He will help us. It says in the Bible, in the Gospel of John: ‘I’am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.’ John 10:9-11 KJV
When we enter that door, he comes to us. That coming to us is the Holy Spirit. We go to Jesus, and then He comes to us. We call on Him, and so He comes to us. Amen.
